The Council of Boards of School Education COBSE has been established as a non-profit, autonomous Organization. COBSE is a consortium of all Boards of school education in India and abroad. It works for the promotion of school education including curriculum reforms and improvement of Educational systems.

The primary motive of the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) is to establish and maintain implicative enhancements in the field of school education. It also aims to utilize all the procreative mediums for the successful attainment of the purpose.
The Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) is an association of various school education boards in India. It was formed with the objective of promoting inter-state cooperation and exchange of ideas among school education boards in the country.
COBSE comprises of 27 member boards, which include the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), and various state boards such as the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, and the Bihar School Examination Board, among others.
The main activities of COBSE include conducting research and studies on school education, developing guidelines and standards for various aspects of school education, and promoting best practices among member boards. It also organizes workshops, conferences, and training programs for teachers and administrators to enhance their skills and knowledge.
